Food and its safety are a core requirement of every individual and organization. Where are standards and systems are refined and are providing effective food safety systems in order to achieve the best practice in food safety and maintain the health also?
The ISO 22000 family of International Standards addresses food safety management.
Food safety management systems (FSMS) are intended to provide organizations with the elements of an effective food safety system in order to achieve the best practice in food safety and to maintain economic goals. The intention is that these systems may be integrated with other management requirements such as those for quality and the environment. The system upon which this Course is based is the ISO 22000:2005; Food safety management systems – Requirements for any organization in the food chain. This Standard has been developed in response to customer demands for a recognizable Standard against which an FSMS can be audited may be conducted and the organization certificated.
The consequences of unsafe food can be serious and ISO’s food safety management standards help organizations identify and control food safety hazards. As many of today's food products repeatedly cross national boundaries, International Standards are needed to ensure the safety of the global food supply chain.
